In the end, I think it is a good series for tween girls to read.

Piemur has never been thrilled with singing female parts, but he’d hoped this one would bring him to the real Lessa’s attention. I wish there were a fourth book as I’m not quite ready to leave Piemur behind. The sexual encounter is not ajne – far from it in fact – but it is both clear and obvious. No trivia or dragondrkms yet. I like Piemur and enjoyed reading as his story unfolded. Despite the change in focus from Menially to Piemur I still really enjoyed this book.
The story has difficulty, however, giving us interesting or nuanced characters beyond the main one. Despite jumping across the map of your mythical Pern, this story goes virtually nowhere. There is some fun with the politics of Pern in the background and I found it to be as always a ann and short read.
It was, however, my least favorite of the trilogy. I know these books were published years ago and no one particularly cares to discover Anne McCaffrey’s books today when they can read modern stories and such but those stories really hold something others don’t and I really can’t wait to read all of Anne Mccaffrey’s other books thank God there are so many!

He has one of the most impressive voices at Harper Hall and, in the world of Pern, there are few things more important than the ability to sing and write songs. The plots still as riveting, the world-building still as thrilling and the characters still as good – well, maybe just a tiny bit more teen angst than I look for these days, but otherwise just as good! It is a very interesting and creative world that I wished was explored more.
Not just because I want to though I do indeed want tobut because the sense of story in the first two books flowed with a confidence utterly lacking in this final one. Other books in this series. Instead, McCaffrey ends on a triumphant note, whether that note acts as resolution or not. Piemur isn’t a bad sort, just a rather impetuous boy who gets in a lot of trouble. He is all set to start practicing the part of Lessa in a new song to be performed, when his voice cracks.
No dragondrkms will miss your boyish treble more than I, lad, except possibly Domick, but here in the Harper Hall, some of us listen to other tunes and drum a different beat. It’s a shame that his personality seemed to take a degree turn towards the end, once he met Sharra. Sebell suggests they attempt to signal Piemur using drum signals, but Southern Hold has no drumheights, so they znne forced to construct one.
