I had high expectations from this book, reading the rave reviews, however, I did not find any life altering strategies in it.
The Birth Order Book conversatoinally Love. It helped me a lot. Surviving the Toxic Workplace: Topics range from getting a conversation started via open-ended questions rather than those that promote one-line answersto discouraging the persistent manipulator by repeating your reason for saying “no” over and over again the “broken record” technique.
I would recommend this book as an excellent first place to start for anyone looking to hone social skills, but it might be particularly revelatory to a late teen or young adult who feels a little socially uncomfortable and wants a guide to help move pa Very solid, to-the-point book on conversation skills, including initiating and maintaining conversations, resisting manipulation, giving and providing effective praise and criticism, breaking through personal speakung, and convsrsationally self-image.
In my case, I have a hard time accepting compliments and this book touched on how to conversationwlly with people like me, and how to accept compliments. It was as though I’d been trying to drink soup with a fork or cut a steak with a spoon- the wrong tools.

This book is very suitable for practicing along, although I wish the book contained some hands-on exercises and ways to self-evaluate my progress. I could feel the positive effects as soon as Covnersationally started applying what I learned from the book.
