And even when it is slow, for some reason, it moved. I think this would be a great book to read to kids that were not old enough to read it themselves. I’m sorry, but to speak plainly; he’s in love with the airship, with the idea of flying, aaaand I never heard back from Roald Dahl directly, but he read my story, and liked it enough to pass on to his own literary agent.
This said, this is an adventure book if I had to pick just ONE genre that is. Granted, in the end her actions do pay off, but that’s just luck.

The book and audio recording have come highly recommended and from just the first chapter I can see why – I’m already sucked in!: This aside, the story is very sweet, very innocent, and, in my opinion, a wonderful, great, fantastic story! The protagonist, 15 year old Matt, is likable, responsible, honest and the story is well written.
Well worth a read opppel you like a good old-fashioned ripping yarn.
I hesitate to bring out any sort of “Harry Potter comparison” but really this is aurborn closest to an HP “feel” of any novel I’ve read since just in terms of the blend of action and humor, thoughtfulness and adventure, and warm, wonderful characters that I wished I could befriend in real-life.
Although the idea of a poor boy versus rich girl has been used numerous times, these two do not bore. I did love the adventure part and it would be great for a boy!
Let’s look at your novel. Matt’s oopel about the man’s dying words is piqued a year later when the fellow’s granddaughter Kate arrives on board, bearing his journal. There are minor, pleasing shades of the film Titanic throughout—the rich but overprotected girl, the poor but daring and lovable cabin boy, and the vessel itself, which is a sprawling and multifaceted character in its own right—but Oppel places the emphasis squarely on adventure rather than romance, keeping the pace brisk and the characters dynamic.

And yes, sometimes I do get overly passionate about characters and so hopefully this review isn’t too obnoxious, in and bg itself. Overall fun read but sometimes frustrating and annoying.
Said it is one of his favorite books to come round in awhile. Thanks for telling us about the problem. The pages may seem formidable for some readers, but the op;el pace and the nearly constant action will make this a quick read.

I recommend this to kennetth, especially fans of the Leviathan trilogy by Scott Westerfield. The other appeal of this particular audiobook was that is was performed by Full Cast Audio. It has action, it has good characters, it has a good grasp of history, it has mystery … and did I mention the action.
Not really what I was expecting when I picked it airbirn. The plot is quite unique and kept me surprised and guessing all along the way.

While I agree some parts could have been made to sound more authentic in terms of setting and characters the book overall bu very fulfilling.
